Ridz does not wash his bag. It has accumulated a lot of funny smells that can be summarized in two words: not nice. Actually, how many of you wash your bags? I remember when I was little (I'm not terribly ancient but still) when I was little and going to primary school, my mommy will empty my heavy cumbersome bag every June and December holiday to wash it. I always have a nice smelling school bag when a new semester starts and always look forward to breaking/destroying my school bag near year-end so I'll get a brand new one for the new school year. Now I still wash the bags I use, except they're so numerous now I just ditch one and use another when one gets my notes grimy and develops a funny smell.
