:: little things ::

it's the little things that matter -- what good is a bathtub without the plug?
today i shall tell you a little thing that warmed my heart.

i woke up at the most unearthly hour to go to school for a project meeting. so there i was, all flustered, worn out, wondering why the heck am i not in bed, and extremely late. when i finally boarded the bus, things were still not looking cheery.

the bus crawled to a stop at the traffic light. (buses always crawl and the light's always red when you're late.) and there was this aDOrable baby in a van beside the bus, wearing multi-coloured frame sunglasses, a blue-striped cotton top, and the most alluring smile ever. he slapped his chubby little hands against the window and grinned that full-of-saliva grin. *oh, i'm smitten*

and, as you would have guessed, the nice bus driver was playing w the baby. nodding his head, and though i cant see his face, you can imagine him smiling with his mouth slightly parted, making baby sounds.

that was beautiful this morning. it's so simple. it's so common. it's one of those things everyone would have experienced for themselves, and witnessed before. i mean, don't you remember once eons ago, whilst sitting in the backseat of your parents' car, you made faces at the bus driver of (probably) an SBS bus, and plastering a stupid grin on your face when he responded with what looked like an "aWww-gu-chi-ku-chi"?

hahahah. i know i used to do that. and then imagine yourself in the driver's shoes. the baby probably brighten up the rest of his day. and it was just a silly, dewy, salivary grin. aWww... :)
